Monticello Boys Team – Unique Service Project

Monticello HS is hosting the 2011 Jingle Ball Classic to support their HS Holiday Toy Drive and benefit the children at Sullivan County Head Start in Monticello.  They will be collecting donations at the door and making announcements throughout the game. Monticello  players will pin a holiday ribbon to thier warm-up shirt and coaches will wear one for the duration of the game. The  coaching staff is planning on wearing the BCANY golf shirts from the clinic.

 Should be a fun event.

 Toy Drive Information:

This year marks the 25th anniversary of our Holiday Toy Drive and it benefits the children at Sullivan County Head Start in Monticello. The drive is headed by Mrs. Beth Lauri, Teacher and College in the Classroom Coordinator at the HS. Students apply to be members of the committee and they help collect donations, purchase, wrap, and deliver presents to children at Sullivan County Head Start. Each team of “elves” recieves a child’s Santa letter and fulfills his/her holiday wish. Each day in the high school, our staff and students have the opportunity to make a monetary donation during thier 1st period class; the classes that raise the most money are treated to a hot breakfast prepared by our administrative staff. The committee has an assembly for the student body where the winning classes are announced, there is a performance from our HS orchestra, and a slide show of the event over at Head Start.
